Most policies would not cover routine check ups or appointments with private GPs. To make a claim on your insurance, you would usually have to be referred by your GP to see a specialist or access treatment.
Some international health insurance plans would cover private GP appointments, although these tend to have higher premiums.
Also some very extensive private medical insurance policies would have ‘GP helplines’ or the option to make a web-cam appointment with a GP, but these extras vary considerably between providers and policies. We would always recommend speaking to your Chase Templeton adviser about finding the most cost-effective solution for you.
