Q: How much do Health Cash Plans cost?

Health cash plans are designed to cover your everyday health costs and often include benefits such as dental and optical cover. They usually cover 50%-100% of the cost of a health bill, up to an annual fixed limit.

Costs tend to vary depending on the extent of the benefits of the policy, the number of people covered and of course the cash plan provider.

  • As an individual the cost of a cash plan can start from around £10 per month
  • For a family a cash plan could cost around £15 per month

What affects the cost of Cash Plans?

There are many benefits which can potentially be provided by a cash plan, these include:

  • Dental costs
  • Optical costs
  • Consultations from a specialist.
  • Cash payments for nights spent in hospital
  • Physiotherapy
  • Home Nursing
  • Prescription costs
  • Complementary therapies including; acupuncture, reflexology and homeopathy
  • Health helplines

The cost of your cash plan will depend on how many of these benefits are covered and the cover limits of the policy. For example, you will find that a cash plan which includes a £30 limit for dental costs will be much cheaper per month than a plan with a £150 dental limit.

Cost of Group or Corporate Cash Plans

Group policies tend to be cheaper per person because of the cost savings you get from bulk buying, so if you can take advantage of a company cash plan then it is usually well worth it – especially as many companies tend to offer these as a paid-for or company-sponsored benefit.

  • Corporate plans can start from as little as £6 per month per employee
