Group Critical Illness Insurance pays your employees a lump-sum of money should they be diagnosed with a specified illness.
Each insurer chooses which conditions or illnesses they will cover your employees for, and these are defined in your policy documents.
A Group Critical Illness policy would not normally provide cover for accidents, however you may be able to add cover for Total Permanent Disability to your policy.
Total Permanent Disability cover provides cover for if your employee can no longer perform either their own, or a suited occupation ever again. This could include cover for conditions such as chronic or recurrent back, neck, joint or muscle pain which could be caused by an accident.
If you are specifically concerned about providing your employees with cover for accidents, or would like to understand the extent of your policy.
