It is usually possible to add your children to your health insurance policy. Every insurer has different terms and conditions, so it is worth speaking to your adviser about whether it is possible to add your children.
Like adult policies, children’s health insurance is available as basic, mid-range or comprehensive policies. They often include the same benefits as adult policies, but will also provide access to a limited number of extra benefits. These could include cover for the cost of a parent staying at the hospital if a child needs treatment.
In the UK this depends on the terms and conditions of your policy. On an individual policy most insurers will move children to their own policy when they are between the ages of 21 and 24. However, these age limits can be a little different for a corporate policy.
If you have any concerns about age limits on children’s health insurance policies then you should always speak to your adviser.
